It’s taken just six weeks for Club Nouveau’s single “Lean on Me” to top the Billboard magazine pop singles chart. Next week, its sizzling dance tune--a remake of an old Bill Withers hit--jumps five places to No. 1. The group also has a hit album, “Life, Love and Pain,” which just cracked the Billboard pop album Top 10--at No. 7. The Beastie Boys’ “Licensed to Ill” is No. 1 for the third week in a row. . . . “Look What the Cat Dragged In,” by the glam-rock band Poison, is surging. Last month the album wasn’t even in the Top 100. Now it’s No. 19 and a good bet to make the Top 10. . . . Hot newcomers: Expose’s “Exposure” (No. 36) and the Psychedelic Furs’ “Midnight to Midnight” (No. 44). . . . Next week, Europe, the band of handsome hard-rock heroes, may break the Top 10 singles chart. Its “The Final Countdown” is No. 11 next week.
