College Roundup : Harkey Pitches Titans Past TCU

Mike Harkey, in his fourth complete game of the year, gave up one run and struck out eight to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 4-1 victory over Texas Christian in a nonconference game on Titan Field.
Mike Ham went 2 for 3 with two RBIs in the eighth and Tony Trevino went 3 for 4 with a double for Cal State Fullerton (15-9).
Scott Deskins (2-3) gave up three runs and five hits, walked five and struck out eight in seven innings for TCU (14-10). The Titans face Texas Christian again tonight at 7 on Titan Field.
Southern California 7, Cal Baptist 5--Jeff Motske doubled with the bases loaded in the ninth to lift the Vanguards over Cal Baptist in a nonconference baseball game at Costa Mesa.
Mike Lomeli (4-3) allowed one hit and struck out two in two innings for the Vanguards (3-1, 6-12) and had an RBI single in the second inning. Carlos Salazar went 2 for 2 with two runs in the second and eighth.
Jeff Rincon led Cal Baptist with a solo home run in the second inning.
In women’s tennis:
UC Riverside 8, Chapman 1--Michelle Dobeck and Lori Mumenthaler, Chapman’s number three doubles team, got the Panthers’ only win in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match at Chapman Thursday.
Chapman is 0-6 and 1-7.
