A Thousand Oaks man was killed Sunday night in a head-on collision near Moorpark allegedly caused by a suspected drunk driver fleeing an earlier hit-and-run accident, authorities said.

Blaine Allan Fitzgerald, 34, was killed instantly after a van driven by Jose Fonseca, 36, of Moorpark crossed the center line of Grimes Canyon Road and collided with Fitzgerald’s car, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At the time, Fonseca was being pursued by Douglas Frost, 62, of Thousand Oaks after Fonseca allegedly crossed the center line and sideswiped Frost’s oncoming car, the Highway Patrol said. Frost was not injured.
