Bail was set at $175,000 for Lawrence Edward Lockridge, 56, who was arrested here after a savings and loan firm holdup and who is a suspect in about a dozen bank robberies in the Los Angeles area.

Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Bill Jansen ordered the cash-only bail for Lockridge, believed to be one of the holdup men whose attire in suits, topcoats and curly wigs caused federal agents to call them the “Marx Brothers Bandits.”

Lockridge’s brother, Roger, believed to be the other “Marx brother,” awaits trial in Los Angeles on two bank robbery charges.
