Mel Gray, who played football for the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Missouri, was arrested in Marin County this week on a Missouri charge of failing to make $27,000 in child-support payments. The charge of felonious nonsupport carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Extradition proceedings have been started to return Gray to Kansas City.
