Veteran star greeter and Daily Variety columnist Army Archerd offers these tips for Oscar show watching: “We’ll know right off the bat who will sweep the show by the first award--best screenplay. If ‘Hannah and Her Sisters’ or ‘Platoon’ takes it, there will be a sweep in that direction.” Archerd, marking his 25th tour at the awards this year, predicts co-host Paul Hogan will be a real crowd pleaser. “Everyone has more or less taken him into their own family, given his tremendous charisma in “ ‘Crocodile’ Dundee.” Finally, Archerd modestly suggests that TV viewers should catch his arrivals show as well: “Everyone is there and you’ll get a good look at all the nominees, not just the winners.”
