Tim McCalister of Oklahoma hit a baseline jumper at the buzzer to give the West a 92-91 victory over David Robinson and the East in the National Assn. of Basketball Coaches All-Star game at New Orleans.

Robinson, of Navy, finished with a game-high 24 points and was voted the game’s most valuable player. He had moved the East ahead 91-90 with a hook shot from the middle of the lane with nine seconds to play.

Robinson was 12 of 16 from the floor. Clemson’s Horace Grant added 18 points for the East and Bruce Dalrymple of Georgia Tech had 13.

The West featured a more balanced attack with McCalister leading the way with 15 points. He was followed by Donald Royal of Notre Dame with 13 points and California’s Kevin Johnson with 12.
