Firefighters confined a small blaze to the bedroom of a house Tuesday, but smoke caused extensive damage.
San Diego Fire Department spokesman Larry Cooke said firefighters were dispatched to the 7400 block of Hillside Drive about 1 p.m. and found smoke billowing out of the windows of the home. They were able to bring the blaze under control quickly, but smoke caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
Investigators said they believe the fire was ignited by a light bulb in a closet. No injuries were reported.
