Aztecs Score in 8th, Earn Split in Softball
Kelli Eldredge scored from second base on an infield single by Dana Kucson in the eighth inning Thursday to give San Diego State a 4-3 victory over University of the Pacific and a split of a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. doubleheader at San Diego State.
Pacific won the first game, 2-0, when Lisa Fresquez threw a one-hitter.
Eldredge, who had three hits in the second game, opened the bottom of the eighth with a bunt single and moved to second on a throwing error. With two out, Kucson beat out a ground ball and Eldredge raced around from second to score the winning run.
Trish Mang went all the way to get the win in the second game for the Aztecs (2-10, 9-21-1). Pacific is 6-6, 10-21.
