Tommy Davis, former San Francisco 49er kicker who holds the NFL record for most consecutive extra points, died at his home in Millbrae, Calif., of lung cancer.
Davis, 52, was successful on 234 consecutive conversion kicks in 1959-65. He made 348 of 350 attempts in his 11-year 49er career and also kicked 130 field goals. He was the 49ers’ all-time leading scorer, with 738 points, until Ray Wersching broke the record in 1985.
