Nevada Reno announced it has hired Washington State basketball Coach Len Stevens as its coach.
Stevens, who compiled a 48-67 record at Washington State in four seasons, will succeed Sonny Allen, who resigned last month after seven years at Nevada Reno.
The best Washington State finish under Stevens was 15-16 and fifth in the Pacific 10 in 1985-86 season. Nevada Reno officials said Stevens will have a better recruiting environment than at Washington State.
