Is Musburger Willing to Pay for His Remarks?
Boo on CBS’ crummy coverage of the great Syracuse-Indiana final. At halftime we got this year’s one-millionth cliche-ridden media bashing of college sports as if CBS just discovered the tired topics of urine testing and recruitment scandals.
And maybe Brent Musburger himself should be urine-tested following his second-half comment about “flesh-peddling agents” who prematurely peel college players into the pros. Brent should recall that even John Wooden advised Bill Walton to skip his senior year in favor of the ridiculous dollars offered. If some gifted ghetto kid loses millions of dollars to a career-ending injury, will Musburger pick up the difference from his own huge salary?
Besides, if not a “flesh-peddling agent,” just who represents Musburger in his negotiations with CBS, the family dog?
