A High Court judge in London blocked the extradition of 26 Liverpool soccer fans to Belgium, saying correct legal procedures had not been followed.

The 26, accused of manslaughter by the Belgian authorities following the 1985 Heysel soccer stadium riots, had appealed against an extradition order signed by a London magistrate.

Thirty-nine people, mostly supporters of the Italian club Juventus, died during rioting at the stadium in Brussels.
