The Vitalize Fairfax Project has received the Remodeled Community Project beautification award from the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.
Under the program, which is funded by the city of Los Angeles, more than 50 North Fairfax Avenue storefronts have been renovated, 49 palm trees have been planted and a 57-space parking structure has been built.
The second phase of the project, which covers the remaining 50 storefronts in the area, is scheduled to be completed by September.
