Ram-Bronco Exhibition Game in London Wins Approval
The National Football League officially announced Monday that the Rams and Denver Broncos would play an exhibition game on Aug. 9 in London’s Wembley Stadium.
Details of the game and the teams involved were first disclosed last month at a meeting of NFL owners in Hawaii, pending final approval from the National Football League Players Assn.
An agreement between the league and the NFLPA was reached over the weekend.
The game, titled “American Bowl ‘87” will be televised live at 10 a.m. (PDT) on NBC. Last year, in American Bowl ‘86, the Chicago Bears defeated the Dallas Cowboys, 17-6, before a crowd of 82,699 at Wembley Stadium.
