AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: Warren Zevon is planning a tour this summer--and don’t be surprised if some of the shows, perhaps even the ones around L.A., will feature back-up help from several members of R.E.M., who played on his upcoming album. The road-show is being billed (in what easily wins our Title of the Week Award) as the “Sentimental Hygiene Tour.” . . . In addition to its own album, R.E.M. has a home video package coming out in June from A&M; Video. Called “R.E.M. Succumbs,” the collection features both hit clips and videos from the vaults as well as a 20-minute film, “Left of Reckoning.” . . . The current Johnny Cash compilation, “The CBS Years: 1958-86,” features a duet with Cash and Bruce Springsteen on a never-before-released version of the Boss’ “Highway Patrolman.” . . . Amanda Vincent, an ex-member of the Eurogliders, will tour with the Thompson Twins this summer. Vincent has been working with ex-Split Enz leader Tim Finn, doing the sound track to “Sir Les Patterson Saves the World,” an upcoming comedy by Barry Humphries. . . . And if you’re looking for an in-depth discography to go with your new Beatles CDs, look for the new Beatles special edition of “Uncle Joe’s Record Guide,” compiled by KLOS deejay Joe (“The Seventh Day”) Benson. The book is loaded with trivia and obscure historical data on the band’s recording career--bet you didn’t know that the riff for “Because,” a John Lennon song from “Abbey Road,” came from Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” being played backwards!
