Quake, Volcanic Eruption Shake Up Alaska Village

SAND POINT, Alaska —
An earthquake measured at 5.7 on the Richter scale rattled the tiny fishing town of Sand Point on Saturday, and fire belched from Pavlof Volcano in a rare simultaneous eruption. Officials said the people fled their homes, but no damage or injuries were reported.
