Local News in Brief : 2 Killed, 2 Injured in Head-on Collision
Two people died in a head-on crash Saturday on California 118 in Somis north of Camarillo.
The victims were identified as Jesus Morales, 21, of Moorpark, and Maryann Baguf, 42, of Cleveland, Ohio. The accident occured about 8 p.m. when the car Morales was driving crossed the center divider and collided with a car driven by Robert Hoegler, 38, of Granada Hills, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.
Morales was killed instantly. Baguf, a passenger in Hoegler’s car, died shortly after she was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital in Thousand Oaks. Hoegler and another passenger, Donna Fox, 39, are in serious condition at the same hospital, a nursing supervisor said.
Morales had been involved in a non-injury hit-and-run accident in Moorpark shortly before the fatal accident, the CHP spokeswoman said.
