Anaheim : Woman Driver Hits Husband by Accident
A 67-year-old man was in critical condition Monday evening after his wife accidentally ran over him with their car in the driveway of their home, authorities said.
Charles Raymond Winget had stepped out of the car to open the gate to the driveway of his home in the 900 block of Ventura Street about 3 p.m. when the accident occurred, Police Sgt. Tom Beardman said.
Winget’s wife, Leona Ann Winget, 52, was driving, and her foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator, Beardman said. The vehicle then ran over her husband.
Winget was transported to UCI Medical Center, where a spokeswoman said he was in critical condition.
Police said no charges are pending against Winget’s wife at this time.
