A traffic collision claimed the life of Robert Reiter, a former New York raisin-shipper, who recently lost a $150-million lawsuit against the California Raisin Advisory Board which he accused of stealing his idea of using human-like dancing raisins to promote the industry. Reiter, 46, of Plattsburgh, and Margaret Virginia Kromberg, 60, of Kerman, were killed near Madera when they were broadsided by a driver who police said failed to stop at an intersection. Enrique Barajas, 20, of Madera, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and of driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.
