3 High School Driving Students Die in Crash
A car crossed the center line and plowed head-on into a high school driver education car Wednesday, killing three students and critically injuring their teacher, authorities said.
The student driving the school car, Rhonda Reeves, and passengers Eric Hamm-Johnson and Kathleen Beeles were pronounced dead at the scene. All were 17. Genesee County Sheriff W. Douglas Call said the instructor, Patrick Collins, 55, was hospitalized in critical condition.
Lyndon Goodell, 23, of Batavia, the driver of the other car, was less seriously injured. He faced a variety of charges, including driving while intoxicated, Call said.
