USD Names Katsiaficas Basketball Assistant

SAN DIEGO — Charles Katsiaficas, basketball coach at Pomona Pitzer, was named an assistant coach at the University of San Diego Monday.
Katsiaficas replaces Rick Schoenlein, who resigned last month.
Pomona Pitzer was 15-10 last season in Katsiaficas’ first year as head coach, finishing second in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in Katsiaficas’ first season. Katsiaficas, a graduate of Tufts University in Massachusetts, was an assistant at Pomona Pitzer in the 1985-86 season.
