A former sixth-grade teacher was charged with telephoning a girl he allegedly molested and trying to intimidate her into not reporting the crime. Don Ray Moore, of Redondo Beach, a 53-year-old Los Angeles Unified School District employee who already faces misdemeanor child molestation charges, now faces additional misdemeanor counts of attempting to prevent a witness from reporting a crime and making threatening or annoying telephone calls, according to Deputy City Atty. Vanessa Place. The city attorney’s office has also referred allegations made by several of Moore’s former students to the district attorney’s office for possible felony prosecution, Place said.
