Shootings on Southland Freeways
I am grieved to learn that a passenger on one of our freeways was shot by a hotheaded driver. I am also a driver. I am also a hothead. I have imagined in a “Rambo-like” fantasy moment that I wished that I had a gun and could put an idiot driver out of his misery. Having felt that I dealt with reality and got on with life, apparently there is someone out there that did not.
I hope that all of Los Angeles joins me in affirming our penance for the act of a thoughtless brother by openly showing respect and assistance six times each day to another motorist, especially those from outside the state, and regain our distinction as the best drivers and the most courteous motorists in the world. We had it once; we can recapture it.
