Manhattan Beach : Leashed Dogs OK in Park

The City Council agreed to allow leashed dogs on the Manhattan Beach Parkway after a successful six-month trial.

The unanimous approval exempts the former Santa Fe Railroad right of way, between Valley Drive and Ardmore Avenue, from the city’s ban on dogs in parks.

The action was recommended by the city Parks and Recreation Commission. Dog owners walked their pets on the land before it became a public park, according to a report by a commission Chairwoman Michele Memmott.
