A Los Angeles tour bus company involved in a fatal accident two months ago was ordered to stop service until it can comply with state regulations, an official said in San Francisco. Jo Soo Kim, operator of Doremi Tours of Los Angeles, was ordered by U.S. District Judge William P. Gray to adhere to federal licensing and financial responsibility laws, said John H. Kirkemo, regional director of the Interstate Commerce Commission in San Francisco. The bus company did not have operating authority from the commission and had not filed proof of proper public liability insurance with the commission, Kirkemo said. Both are requirements for interstate passenger carriers. The court order resulted from a commission field staff investigation into Doremi’s passenger services between Los Angeles and Las Vegas after one of its vehicles was involved in a highway accident on Interstate 15 near the state line that resulted in the deaths of six Korean-speaking tourists.
