5.7 Quake Hits Mexico; No Injuries Reported

MEXICO CITY —
A moderate earthquake shook Mexico City and the southern states early Wednesday, the National Seismological Laboratory reported, but there were no reports of damage or injury.
The quake--off the coasts of Oaxaca and Guerrero states about 217 miles southwest of Mexico City--occurred at 1:17 a.m. and registered 5.7 on the Richter scale.
