Countywide : Census Bureau Housing Survey Starts Monday

The Census Bureau will begin a survey of housing in Orange County Monday. The telephone survey, which is part of a national study, will try to find out how many houses and apartments there are in Orange County, in addition to their cost, structural characteristics and the number of people living in them.

The randomly selected households in the survey have already received written notice that a census taker will contact them between now and mid-December seeking information. Those who cannot be reached by telephone will be interviewed in person by census takers. The identities of those surveyed will be kept confidential, officials said.
