A Santee woman died late Saturday when she was thrown from her pickup after it careened off California 125 south of Interstate 8, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Robin Prevatte, 25, was pronounced dead at 10 p.m. at Grossmont Hospital. Deputy Coroner Everett Mauger said she died as the result of head injuries.
A CHP spokeswoman said Prevatte was traveling northbound on Route 125 at a high speed when her truck struck a curb, crossed two lanes of traffic and ran up an embankment. No other vehicles were involved.
