The parents of a young Rancho Cucamonga man who was shot to death by a sheriff’s deputy when he pointed a Lazer Tag pistol at the officer while playing with friends on a darkened school ground have filed a $3-million claim against San Bernardino County. Leonard Falcon, 19, was killed April 7 by Deputy Dan’l Durant, who mistook the pistol for a real weapon and fired his shotgun. Angela Hodge, the county’s supervising claim adjuster, said the claim probably will be rejected. A legal secretary for attorney Michael Bidart, who represents the Falcon family, said that a lawsuit probably will be filed if the claim is turned down.
