In a bonus for local fans, NBC takes viewers out to the ball game today--twice.

The first game of NBC’s double-header finds the California Angels and Detroit Tigers getting the ball rolling from Tiger Stadium at 10:15 a.m. The Motor City match-up will be followed at 1 p.m. by the Dodger-Chicago Cub contest from Dodger Stadium. Both games will be carried on Channels 4, 36 and 39.

Sunday’s game between the Angels and Tigers can be seen at 10:30 a.m. on KTLA Channel 5, with a Dodger-Cub telecast due at 1 p.m. on WGN cable, though it may be blacked out locally.

With the Pan-American Games one week away, the U.S. Olympic Festival wraps up its competition this weekend. Today’s coverage on ESPN cable is at noon (gymnastics, synchronized swimming, track & field) and 5 p.m. (track & field, horse jumping). Sunday will bring two other live broadcasts, starting at 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.; closing ceremonies will be featured in the evening.

For golf fans, there are two attractions. The U.S. Women’s Open commences on ABC today at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (7)(3)(10)(42). Over on CBS, there’s the Buick Open, which gets under way today at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. (2)(8).

Finally, ESPN plans to cover baseball’s Hall of Fame induction from Cooperstown, N.Y., Sunday at 3 p.m.
