A North Hollywood woman was killed early Saturday when the car in which she was riding skidded off a winding road in Agoura Hills and hit a telephone pole, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, CHP Officer Stearlene Marshall said.

Heidi Geltermair, 20, died at a local hospital about three hours after she was thrown from the car during the collision, Marshall said.

Mark Krynsky, 21, of Van Nuys, had been driving the 1982 Datsun 280Z at a speed estimated at 65 to 70 m.p.h. when he lost control on a curve at 4:15 a.m. on southbound Kanan Road south of Triunfo Canyon Road, Marshall said.

Krynsky was treated at Westlake Community Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The accident occurred on the same stretch of Kanan Road where a car carrying six youths from Pasadena plunged down a 350-foot embankment early Thursday. Five of the six were thrown from the car, but all escaped severe injury, the CHP said.
