Calabasas Man Slain; Roommate Held
A Calabasas man was stabbed to death and his roommate arrested on suspicion of murder after a dispute between the two early Friday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Wayne Rossin, 25, was stabbed in the upper chest at 1:40 a.m. during a fight with Mark Steven Wagman, 27, investigators said.
Wagman left Rossin lying wounded in the apartment in the 23600 block of Park Capri, went to a nearby pay telephone and told police that a man had been stabbed in the apartment, Sheriff’s Lt. David Horton said.
Moments later, Wagman called police again and told them he had committed the stabbing, Horton said. Rossin died less than an hour later in Westlake Community Hospital.
Wagman was arrested at the phone booth and was being held without bail in the Malibu sheriff’s substation, Horton said.
Investigators have not determined what started the fight between the roommates, he said.
