Apartment Manager Dies After Beating
The manager of a Canoga Park apartment complex was found dead in her apartment Tuesday night, the apparent victim of a beating, Los Angeles police said.
The body of Nice Oana, 53, was discovered by her husband, George Oana, at about 8 p.m. in the three-bedroom apartment they shared at 21909 Lanark St., Los Angeles Police Detective Pat Conmay said. She had been the manager of the complex for about two years, Conmay said.
Oana’s upper body appeared to have been beaten. A coroner’s examination is being conducted, the detective said.
George Oana, 41, was the last to see his wife. He told police he left the apartment at about 2:30 p.m.
Police know no motive for the killing, nor do they have a suspect. Neighbors say they did not see or hear anything unusual, Conmay said.
