Pasadena : Relocation Payments OKd
The Board of Directors has agreed to pay the relocation costs of the six residents and two businesses that would be displaced by the construction of a $6.1-million industrial park in northwest Pasadena.
The city is required to help relocate only residents and businesses that are forced to move because of a city redevelopment project, not a private development such as the Lincoln Avenue project. But the board decided to step beyond the normal requirements because the industrial park, at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Washington Boulevard, is within a redevelopment area.
The board set aside $75,000 to pay for all the relocation benefits, which will include moving costs, temporary rent subsidies and assistance in finding a new residence or business site.
