No bombs were found at an evacuated Stanislaus National Forest campground and no further threats were heard from a mystery caller, prompting authorities to reopen the area to waiting campers. “Quite a number of people lined up this evening, waiting for our decision so they could return to their abandoned campground,” said Steve Waterman, a Forest Service information officer. An estimated 1,200 visitors at the 20-acre Pinecrest Campground in the central Sierra were ordered evacuated after a forest ranger received an anonymous call. The caller said a second man had buried bombs in the campground and would call the campground to say when the bombs would explode. Ranger Gary Cones said the male voice offered no motive.
