Two men were shot and seriously wounded in La Jolla early Sunday, police said.

Details were sketchy on the shooting, which San Diego police said occurred in the La Jolla Shores area shortly after midnight.

Both victims received abdomen wounds from what appeared to have been a .22-caliber revolver, police said.

Both men were believed to be servicemen, but their exact military affiliation was not clear.

Police said three to four suspects left the scene in a maroon or dark red Chrysler convertible. The suspects were described as Latino men.
