Paolo Rosola of Italy vaulted into the lead when a brief fight broke out between two other riders and cruised to a convincing victory in the men’s 107-mile, Aspen-to-Copper Mountain leg in the Coors International bicycle race at Copper Mountain, Colo.

Ron Kiefel of the powerful 7-Eleven team finished second and moved up to fourth place overall, giving 7-Eleven the first four spots in the general standings.

Rosola, 30, of the Bianchi-Italy team, won his second race of the race. Running in a lead pack of six riders, Rosola went in front with about 25 miles to go when Jaanus Kuum of Norway and Team Gore-Tex and Roberto Pagnin of Italy and the Bianchi team exchanged blows.
