A 10-month-old boy remained in critical condition at Torrance Memorial Hospital burn center following a fire that swept through a two-story apartment unit in the Nickerson Gardens public housing project in Watts. Ivan Belton was one of seven persons injured in the fire in the 11000 block of South Antwerp Street. Two girls, ages 6 and 9, suffered serious burns and were airlifted to County-USC Medical Center, said a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.
