TURLOCK —
An abandoned infant was found crying in a backyard just hours after its birth Wednesday, police said.
Officer Amos Reyes said the full-term Latino girl was 12 hours old and still had an umbilical cord when she was found in the backyard of a home here at about 12:45 p.m.
A neighbor boy on an errand heard an infant crying nearby and found her at the residence and an ambulance was called to the scene. The baby was listed in stable condition at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
