A Pomona security guard died after being stabbed in the chest with a knife while trying to break up a fight at an apartment building. John Jupiter Estrada, 20, died at Pomona Valley Community Hospital after the 9 p.m. attack, said Pomona Police spokeswoman Thelma Dwyer. Kevin Robert Calderon, 18, who lives at the apartment complex at 235 W. Grove St., was booked into the Pomona Police Station on suspicion of murder, Dwyer said. Estrada, who also lived at the apartment building, was trying to break up a fight in which Calderon was involved when he was stabbed, Dwyer said.
