Burbank Council OKs Pact With Firefighters
A 3-year labor contract between the City of Burbank and the Burbank Fire Fighters Assn. was approved Tuesday by the Burbank City Council, ending three months of negotiations.
The contract establishes a 10-step merit raise plan to replace the automatic 5.4% raise firefighters and paramedics received each year until they reached the top of their salary range.
The contract also gives firefighters a 7.45% raise in first-year salary and benefits.
Under the new contract, salaries for firefighters will range from $2,536 a month to $3,167 a month.
Firefighters approved the contract earlier this month.
