A fast-moving fire broke out Tuesday in Agoura Hills, blackening 125 acres of brush but injuring no one. Meanwhile, across the county, lightning triggered half a dozen smaller fires in the Santa Clarita Valley, Los Angeles County firefighters said.

The cause of the Agoura Hills fire, which broke out at Reyes Adobe and Agoura roads about 12:40 p.m. and was contained by about 150 firefighters by 7 p.m., was under investigation. Firefighter Charlie Gibson said arson was suspected.

Six smaller fires near Newhall burned about 100 acres, Gibson said. About 600 county firefighters and U.S. Forest Service workers were called in to fight the fires, which threatened no structures but caused one firefighter to suffer heat exhaustion, Gibson said.
