Er Scores to Give USIU 1-0 Soccer Win

Cem Er scored nearly 15 minutes into the second half to give United States International University a 1-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in a men’s soccer match Tuesday at USIU.

The Gulls’ Jon Sissons was credited with the assist. Sissons passed the ball from behind midfield to Er, who was running down the sideline. Er took the pass and scored from 20 yards out.

USIU goalie Oscar Rodriguez made four saves to preserve the victory.

USIU is 2-0 and CS Dominguez Hills is 0-2. USIU has 23 consecutive victories games at home, dating back to Oct. 24, 1984.
