Huntington Beach : Two Die as Car Flips on Pacific Coast Highway
A maroon Corvette speeding east at an estimated 100 m.p.h. on Pacific Coast Highway near Bolsa Chica State Park early Saturday went out of control and flipped, ejecting the driver and passenger, both of whom were killed instantly, police said.
Witnesses told police that the sports car struck the raised center divider at about 5:40 a.m. The vehicle then swerved across the two eastbound lanes, crashed through a chain link fence and flipped, ejecting the male driver and female passenger. Neither victim was apparently wearing a seat belt, police said.
The victims’ identities were not immediately released because relatives had not been notified, police said.
