Local News in Brief : Van Nuys Realty Agent Is Named to Fair Board

Gov. George Deukmejian has appointed a Van Nuys real-estate broker to the 51st District Agriculture Assn., which administers the San Fernando Valley Fair, the governor’s office announced.
Helen R. Gabriel, 67, a Republican, was appointed to fill the seat of John A. Steel of Sylmar, who resigned.
Gabriel has been in the real-estate business in the Valley since 1959, according to the governor’s office. Her term will expire in 1989.
