Cornerback Paces USD Over Redlands
Cornerback Darryl Jackson intercepted three passes as the University of San Diego defense shut down the University of Redlands for a 28-0 Torrero victory Saturday at Redlands.
USD (1-0-1) set the tone early, when quarterback Braulio Castillo hit tight end Lionel DeMorst on a 55-yard pass play, bringing the ball to the Redlands 4-yard line. On the next play, Castillo ran around end for the first Torrero score.
Redlands (0-1) suffered six turnovers, including three fumbles. The USD defense held the Bulldogs to 76 yards rushing.
