Wildland Arsonists
Diane Swanbrow’s “Firestarters” (Aug. 16) was very well written, complete and informative. Arson fire is a real problem in this country; in the wildlands it is particularly dangerous for firefighters and quite costly to the community in terms of life loss and property damage, not to mention the expense of putting the fire out.
Wildland fire will continue to plague us but need not go unchecked. You can clear the brush away from structures, demand that your elected officials regulate the use of wood-shingle roofs and support your firefighters’ efforts to serve you.
