College Roundup : San Diego State Beats Fullerton
Middle blocker Angelica Jackson had 15 kills and 2 blocks to lead San Diego State to a 15-1, 15-2, 15-7, sweep over Cal State Fullerton in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. women’s volleyball match Friday at Titan Gym.
Jackie Mendez, a former Westminster High School star, had 11 kills and two service aces to help the Aztecs (1-2, 4-6).
The Titans (7-8, 0-4) were led by senior hitter Alisa DeNapoli with five kills.
Chapman 3, Occidental 0--Senior Tammy Light had eight kills to lead the Panthers to a 15-9, 15-0, 15-8, victory at Chapman College.
In women’s nonconference soccer:
Cal Poly Pomona 2, UC Irvine 1--Tricia McCarthy scored a goal in overtime for Pomona (4-4) at Irvine. Wendy Gleason had scored in the first half to give Irvine a 1-0 lead.
