Whittier : Parking Enforcement Law

Share

The Whittier City Council has amended an ordinance to make it illegal to remove marks chalked on car tires by police officers who are enforcing parking regulations. The ordinance calls for violators to be punished by a fine not exceeding $100 on the first violation, $200 for a second violation within one year and $250 for each additional violation within the same year.

The council passed the measure as part of an effort to alleviate parking problems in crowded Uptown Whittier, where there is a two-hour parking limit.
